Agathe Riedinger’s film does not reproduce romantic clichés. Flawless acting and the development of characters that are difficult to resist. An excellent script that consciously avoids the well-trodden paths of drama – with a maturity rarely seen in debuts.
Beautiful cinema, incredible debut
The director hints at them and then consistently leads us down a different path. The reality of this film is far from the black and white simplifications to which decades of patriarchal storytelling have accustomed us. Here the woman is the subject.
