with a Dutch couple
Scenario
A family is invited to spend the weekend in a lonely house in the countryside, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that there is a dark side to the family that invited them. James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis share the elements of their characters they found most interesting and praised each other when discussing their different approaches to the craft. The story is inspired by the experiences of Christian Tafdrup, the director of the original Danish film Speak No Evil (2022), who became friends while on vacation. in Tuscany with his wife.
Ben Dalton: Why are you doing this to us?
Although the Dutch were somewhat socially awkward, the two couples got along very well, and upon returning home, Tafdrup received an invitation from a Dutch family to come to Holland. He thought about it briefly, but decided that it would feel weird staying with people he didn’t really know; his story for the film came about when he unleashed his darkest imaginings of what might happen if he accepted (claiming that the original Dutch couple never gave off bad vibes). In this remake, the nationalities of both families were changed to American and British. In the bathroom, when he washes his eye, he has a subconjunctival hemorrhage in his left eye, in the next scene his eyes are completely clear…
Paddy: Because you let us!

I started that movie on a boring day with the need to watch a movie, especially a horror movie, and I chose this Danish horror movie: "Speak no evil" and this movie really impressed me! A lot of tension, a lot of scary scenes, dark, bold and in the finale: brutal and disturbing!
It’s not a bad movie, but an average movie with few changes from the original!
Now I saw it at the premiere here in my country and I’m waiting for something similar (I mean, duuh, it’s a remake ), but I noticed that this one has more minutes: the original is 1 hour and 37 minutes long and this one is 1 hour and 50 minutes because they put some new scene in it but nooooo! There is a lot more talking and the film seems to be easier on violence and brutality! The original movie was much more brutal (at least the final scene), this one is more like hard PG13 than R! James McAvoy gives us a top notch performance and even the acting of the little girl along with the little boy is very decent..but the movie lacks the kind of tension (there is tension in this too) of the original!
65 out of 10 from me!
